We believe in the philanthropy that can generate self-sustainability and not dependency. When you create the tools for someone to fend for themselves, you come across to that wonderful Chinese proverb:
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.
How we work
We get 2 sorts of applicants (from developed and developing countries) and 2 type of sponsor (donor to the plan and sponsor that bought web-server space). The applicants from richer nations are seeking: “business opportunities to grow their plans”, while the third world applicants are seeking cash to finance small business projects through microfinance partners (such as kiva and the grameen bank).
How money is made to help microfinance initiatives: We deliver a service (consulting on e-Business progress) or lend a software architecture (how to use software in a business) in richer nations, a good part of the revenues are invested in microcredit/microfinance business projects.
That extra bit!
To help people in developing nations even more, we give them a $500 fund in “Internet Web Presence” resources that they can sell/lend overseas and use those repayments to pay for their microcredits loan. In this way we can bring more and more people out of the digital divide and show them how to get a financial benefit from the digital age. We currently are opening over $12,000 every week in this particular support plan.
The end result
Microfinance is a great tool to bring small loans to developing nations, while it’s counterpart, macrocredits, gives the software and the expertise to businesses in richer nations to help them move forward, creating a continuing cross-pollination of ideas, opportunities and cooperation on an international way using the international markets by recycling the funds in the self-sustainable system.
